A long con, not a quick hit
So-called pig butchering scams build trust over weeks before any money changes hands. Contact often begins as a friendly or romantic message. The conversation slowly turns to investing, and the victim is guided onto a convincing but fake trading platform.
The mechanics
Early small withdrawals are allowed to build confidence. As deposits grow, withdrawals stop. The platform shows fabricated gains while the real funds have already been swept on-chain to collection wallets and onward to exchanges.
If it is happening to you
- Stop sending funds immediately, including any fee to release a balance.
- Preserve everything: transaction hashes, wallet addresses, screenshots, and chat logs.
- Do not delete the conversation — it is evidence.
- Seek a forensic assessment while the on-chain trail is fresh.
These cases are painful and rarely simple, but early, organized evidence keeps the most options open. Talk to our team for an honest read on where you stand.
